Coming December 2023 and January 2024

The statistics report that approximately 70% of the world’s population has been exposed to a traumatic life event.

That’s 223.4 million people in the U.S. alone.

But, when I truly understood what trauma was, I realized that we all carry it and that completely changed how I viewed my life and the world around me!

Being trauma-informed means having an understanding of how trauma affects individuals and how it can manifest in their lives.

A trauma-informed person will be able to see everyone through a “trauma lens” and come to understand:

  • Trauma can cause people to have a range of emotions and reactions that may seem disproportionate to the situation at hand. - How to create a safe and welcoming space for their clients to share their experiences and feelings without fear of judgment.
  • Trauma causes individuals to be hard on themselves and have negative self-talk. A trauma-informed coach can help their clients develop self-compassion and self-care practices that can aid in their healing and growth.
  • How to empower their clients by helping them regain control over their lives, develop resilience, and navigate their healing journey.
  • How to provide customized support by tailoring their coaching techniques and interventions to meet the specific needs of clients, promoting a more effective and personalized support system.
  • Being trauma-informed can help improve outcomes for individuals who have experienced trauma.
  • It reduces re-traumatization: Individuals who have experienced trauma may be triggered by certain situations or experiences. We can take steps to avoid re-traumatization and promote a sense of safety and security.
